Reporting to the COO, the CIO has direct oversight and accountability for BCBSMA’s Enterprise Technology Division (ET). The CIO is responsible for aligning ET and business functions, strategies and goals to create better business value through technology delivery and streamlined operations. This role oversees architecture, core technology delivery, digital & analytics delivery, financial & vendor management, infrastructure & technical operations and the strategic corporate portfolio. The CIO’S focus is on the end-to-end service that drives accountability, measures success, and optimizes capacity for high-value activities. Differentiate BCBSMA’s capabilities using best in class technologies for account retention and new sales. Deliver on new admin efficiency capabilities to drive down PMPM and value for our accounts and members and develop Corporate Strategy by incorporating Technology Strategy and shaping Corporate Portfolio Initiatives
he SVP and CIO plays a critical role in enabling the BCBSMA strategy to drive profitable growth, create exceptional consumer experiences and enhance value to employers, providers and members. The role serves as a member of the executive leadership team and influences strategic business decisions regarding the use of technology.
With accountability for a $250M+ operating budget and responsibility for managing a $75M+ project portfolio, 400 inclusive and diverse FTE’s within BCBSMA and XFTE through vendor partners, the CIO is charged with developing a sustainable competitive advantage through operational excellence, analytical and business intelligence, competitive cost structure, innovation and emerging technology strategy, market responsiveness and integrated supply chain management.
